Dr Travis BakerBiographyDr. Baker attended Cleveland Chiropractic College where he graduated Cum Laude and completed certification in acupuncture and meridian therapy. Following graduation, Dr. Baker continued his training in Traditional Chinese Medicine in a mentorship program at the Acupuncture Center of Overland Park with Dr. David Yoo. As a former high school and Division 1 athlete, Dr. Baker often sought regular alternative medical care to keep his body functioning optimally. Having his own share of injuries, he understands the importance of maintaining balance within one’s own body to help prevent injury and aid in recovery. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Education & Human Science. While at UNL he competed on the wrestling and track and field teams. As a high jumper on the track team he was a member of 4 Big XII Championship teams and was a 2004 national qualifier. In addition to training in acupuncture and chiropractic, Dr. Baker also holds certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES). He is also full body certified in ART (Active Release Technique). Certifications Active Release Technique (ART) ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. Motion palpation is a diagnostic technique used by the doctor of chiropractic to locate joint dysfunction within the spinal column and extremities. This technique was brought to the United States in 1981 and quickly gained acceptance as a standard diagnostic tool for the chiropractic profession. Motion palpation is now taught in chiropractic colleges throughout the world.
